The transfer window for currently enrolled students for the 2023–24 school year is open from March 21 through April 14. After April 14, additional transfer requests will not be considered or accepted.

In Leander ISD, we believe students receive a quality education regardless of the campus they attend; however, we understand there are circumstances when a parent may desire for their child to attend a school other than the campus they are currently assigned.

For currently enrolled students, we offer families the opportunity to request a transfer in the Spring semester of each school year during the month of March. If parents or students have concerns or questions about their current campus, please contact your school’s administration for support.

Please review the below transfer information for currently enrolled students and new-to-district students.

Transfer Application for Currently Enrolled Students

Families will be notified of their request status at the beginning of May, 2023.

Please review the following information regarding the types of transfers available and the application process:

Previously approved transfer students remaining at the same campus WILL NOT need to reapply or pay another application fee, as they will be automatically approved for the next year if the student is in good standing* and not moving from fifth to sixth grade or from eighth to ninth grade.

If the previously approved transfer student is changing campuses – moving from fifth grade to sixth grade or from eighth grade to ninth grade – they WILL need to apply and pay the application fee if their desired campus is different from their zoned campus.

If the previously approved transfer student wishes to return to their zoned campus, please contact the campus registrar.

*Good standing is determined through a district and campus review of attendance, grades and discipline.

Additional Information for Previously Approved Transfers

Schools/Grade Levels Currently Open for Transfers

Campus space and staffing availability are evaluated regularly in each grade level/program and transfers will be approved based on this evaluation.

If a transfer application is submitted for a school/grade level not listed as open to transfers, the processing fee is NOT refundable and the transfer request will not be considered
