Chris Clark, Ed.D., has served as the Superintendent of Leander ISD since April 2026. He brings more than 30 years of experience in public education, including more than two decades in campus and district leadership. Since joining Leander ISD in 2023, he has helped lead key districtwide initiatives focused on strengthening student learning, supporting educators and aligning systems across the organization.
Before being named superintendent, Clark served as acting superintendent, deputy superintendent of learning and innovation, and assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. In these roles, he worked closely with campus and district leaders to strengthen instructional systems and collaboration across the district. His work has included leading strategies within the District Improvement Plan, supporting Professional Learning Communities and Accelerated Math Pathways, and strengthening alignment between campus improvement plans and the district’s Strategic Plan and Community-Based Accountability System.
His leadership approach emphasizes bringing campus and central office teams together around a shared vision for student learning, aligning district priorities and strengthening support for schools.
Prior to joining Leander ISD, Clark held leadership roles in Frisco ISD, McKinney ISD and Tulsa Public Schools. His career includes experience as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and district-level administrator overseeing academic programs and student supports.
Clark is committed to student-centered leadership, clear communication, strong support for staff and responsible stewardship of district resources as Leander ISD continues to serve a growing and evolving community.
Clark attended Northeastern State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He completed a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and School Administration at Oklahoma State University, and he went on to complete a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at the University of North Texas.
