Provide updates to the Plant Services Mechanic Shop located west of the District Administration building [map]. The building is the district’s original transportation facility built in the 1970s. It has never been updated.

South Warehouse Facility Additions & Renovations

Grandview Hills Elementary complex

Project Scope

Renovate and add to the district’s warehouse facility located in the southern portion of the district, adjacent to the Grandview Hills Elementary campus site. [map]

The redesigned support complex will include a location for warehouse storage and a mechanic shop, along with the South Transportation Terminal and Information Technology Services’ second broadband network node.

This is a combined project with the Information Technology Services (ITS) project of a Second Broadband Network Node and the South Transportation Terminal project at the same location.

Replacement Vehicles

Maintenance Van

Project Scope

Replace aging plant services fleet and grounds motorized vehicles that are 8–10 years old or at the end of life.

  • Maintenance vans (20)
  • Grounds trucks (20)
  • Grounds mowers, utility vehicles and tractors

The fleet is reaching end of life and requires more maintenance to keep them running. For example, the current distribution center forklift was acquired in 2009 and needs frequent repairs. Repairs in 2021–22 were more than $15,000.

Project Status

  • Working on procurement process for remaining items. The 2023 auto strike has had an impact on orders.
  • November 2023
    Six (6) Ford F150 single cabs purchased scheduled to be delivered.
  • October 2023
    Purchased and received three (3) vans.
