Bio
Laura Marques, Ph.D., was appointed to the Leander ISD Board of Trustees in November 2025. She and her husband have two children who attend Tarvin Elementary. Her involvement in the district includes serving in several volunteer capacities, including with site-based committees, the Special Programs Advisory Council and PTA.
Marques graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans. She went on to pursue a doctoral degree in School Psychology from Tulane University. She provides psychological services to children and families while also participating in program development and teaching and mentoring of clinicians as an adjunct assistant professor with Tulane University School of Medicine.
During the Oct. 23 Board meeting, Trustees decided to fill the seat through an appointment. The outcome precludes the cost of a special election and allows a complete, seven-member board until an election in November 2026.
