Facility Construction

Project Scope

Construct a new warehouse facility for the Science Materials Center (SMC). The SMC creates science kits for all elementary school classrooms and on demand for middle school and high school classes. These ready-made kits cycle through all elementary schools for hands-on learning. The existing warehouse is too small for storage and distribution of the materials.

The new location will be in a lot next to LISD’s Central Transportation and Support Services buildings [map].

This is a combined project location with Special Education 18+ Transition Services. These two projects will be located on the same lot to further accommodate the work-based learning opportunities available to 18+ Transition Services students at the Science Materials Center.
