School Repurposing

Project Scope

The bond passed in May 2023 included $161 million for the repurposing of underutilized campuses.

Following the Board’s decision to consolidate Faubion Elementary after the 2025–26 school year, the district began early programming and design exploration tied to long-range planning priorities. Details about potential uses and timelines will be developed through the design process and shared with the community as planning continues.

The timing of all future construction projects is dependent upon multiple factors, including enrollment trends, facility needs, and any related Board action.

Project Status

October 2026
Trustees received updates on several major facility projects, including the repurposing of Faubion Elementary. District administration confirmed that planning is now focused on co-locating Early College High School and New Hope High School at the former Faubion site. While co-located, both programs will retain individual identities and academic program spaces.
Design work for New Hope will transform the campus into a learning environment tailored to the school’s nontraditional model. Design work on ECHS is set to take place this fall.
February 2026
Predesign work is underway. This process will take several months.
January 2026
Trustees approved the selection of an architect to begin design and planning work associated with the future repurposing of the Faubion Elementary campus.
December 2025
Board decision to consolidate Faubion Elementary after the 2025–26 school year.
