LISD Transportation is a fast-growth destination district covering nearly 200 square miles. It serves families in Burnet, Travis and Williamson counties which encompasses 11 cities: Austin, Bertram, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Jonestown, Leander, Liberty Hill, Marble Falls, Pflugerville, Round Rock and Volente. The department provides transportation services to 29 elementary schools, 9 middle schools, 6 high schools and 3 alternative schools. In addition, LISD Transportation provides Out-of-District support for McKinney Vento, Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) and the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD).

Our Mission

To positively support the educational process of our students by providing safe and efficient transportation.

The department operates out of two transportation terminals (North and Central) using a fleet of over 300 buses with approximately 160 bus routes. The LISD bus fleet travels more than 15,000 miles per day and more than 3.8 million miles annually. Its professional team of drivers and monitors transport more than 16,000 students to and from school daily and to almost 6, 000 extracurricular field trips annually. 

LISD Transportation provides additional support for students with special needs during the school year, as well as, during the summer for Extended School Year (ESY). The department transports students enrolled in the early childhood educational programs such as: ELE, Pre-K 4 and PSLP, as wells as, the following special programs:

District provided transportation support for special programs: 1500 students; 447,000 miles annually.
