The Leander ISD Police Department directives are formal, written orders issued by the Chief of Police that define the policies and procedures governing the department. These directives are established with the authorization of the Superintendent and the Board of Trustees of the Leander Independent School District. Any changes or exceptions to these directives may only be made or approved by the Chief of Police.
While most directives are published in full, certain policies have been redacted to protect sensitive information. Content that could compromise public safety, endanger crime victims, impact district personnel, or hinder the department’s response to critical incidents has been withheld in accordance with rulings by the Office of the Attorney General. The department regularly reviews and updates its directives; as a result, there may be delays in the publication of newly revised or adopted policies.
