Request an Officer
The LISD Police Department allows officers to work secondary law enforcement-related jobs during their off-duty time.
Generally the LISD Police Officers work off-duty jobs only within school district limits. To determine if your event is within district limits, please see our map here. Requests to hire an LISD Police Officer to work outside district limits will be considered on a case-by-case basis, so contact us directly for consideration.
Questions? Send an email or call 512-570-0911 for more information.

- A LISD Police Officer’s primary responsibility while working in an off-duty status is the enforcement of federal and state laws as well as municipal ordinances; to protect life and property and to keep the peace. Officers engaged in a secondary employment job will not refuse to assist any citizen in need and can be called away from any secondary employment job if an emergency arises.
- This event does not involve the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages. It also does not involve services for bail bond agencies, investigative work for insurance agencies, collection agencies, attorneys, wrecker services, sexually oriented businesses, pawn shops or gambling establishments.
- Officer(s) will not be restricted from certain areas of the premises to which the public has access.
- Neither the location where the event is occurring nor the person/entity requesting the off-duty Officer(s) are under investigation for violation of Federal, State or Local laws.
- Officers shall not work for an individual or business that requires the employee to sign a hold harmless indemnity agreement as a condition of employment.
- Neither the employer nor the organization or location seeking off-duty Officer(s) advocates hatred, prejudice, or oppression of any racial, ethnic, gender, or religious group, or that disseminates defamatory materials.
