Superintendent Dan Troxell high-fives students.

Superintendent of Schools

I am excited for another great year of learning. Leander ISD continues to be a destination district for many reasons, not the least of which is the incredible commitment to excellence our community fosters each and every year. We live and work among talented, caring people that know the value of public education and its promise to all students to help prepare them for college, career and life.

From LISD Convocation on August 10 to LISD Graduation in May/June 2019, our journey together will undoubtedly be full of memorable experiences and challenges. Thank you for your support, dedication and enthusiasm for our shared purpose: to engage, inspire and achieve for lifelong success. I look forward to working with you during what promises to be an exceptional year of learning.

Student Voice
Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D. wants to hear from students. Each month, we share a new topic or prompt for student submissions. There is no length or format requirement; we want to give students an opportunity to engage with Dr. Troxell. We love getting artwork and photos or videos to accompany any submission.

Please provide us with contact information so we can follow-up. We may use submissions in local newspapers, on our website, or social media pages.

If you are a teacher submitting responses from your students, please list your contact information.

Our February 2019 prompt is:

Voice for Change

We feel like our public schools play a critical role in developing the next generation of leaders. We celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day last month and celebrate Presidents Day in February. Who is a leader from history that you admire? Please share a story of a leader who inspires you and explain why.

Release: Feb. 4, 2018

Due: Feb. 11, 2018
