Leander ISD remains committed to empowering students in their learning, valuing and supporting staff, and fostering strong partnerships with families, community members, taxpayers, and state leaders. Recognizing that local communities understand their students best, we aim to maintain learning environments that are safe, innovative, and inclusive.
By partnering with legislators and key decision-makers around legislative priorities, the district seeks to protect equitable access to educational opportunities, uphold a strong public education system, and ensure all students have the resources and support necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Leander ISD community provided input on legislative impacts following the 89th Legislative Session through survey responses and a new series of listening sessions held across campuses and stakeholder groups. This feedback has been used to inform the Board’s development of interim legislative priorities, ensuring they reflect the lived experiences of students, staff, families, and community members as new laws take effect.

In Leander ISD, we embrace a culture of voting. On Oct. 5, 2023, the LISD Board passed a resolution supporting and promoting a culture of voting. One of our 10 Ethical Principles is “Civic Duty” because we are dedicated to making the world a better place. So whether you’re a student, staff or community member, let’s make our community stronger one voter at a time.
When voting for state and local officials, choices have very direct and concrete effects on the daily lives of the community. The first step toward making your voice heard is registering to vote.
If 100% of educators vote, we can change the outcome of elections. The representatives you elect decide:
Williamson County new voter registration, current voter name and address changes, view what’s on your ballot, in person and vote by mail information, become a poll worker or volunteer deputy registrar, more.
Travis County new voter registration, current voter name and address changes, view what’s on your ballot, in person and vote by mail information, become a poll worker or volunteer deputy registrar, more.
Voter rights, FAQ, new voter registration, services for voters with special needs, information for military and overseas voters, important election dates and voting precinct information.
Learn where candidates running for office in your community stand on the issues. Search by your address to create, print or email a personalized ballot to use as a reference when you vote. Let’s move Texas out of last place in voter turnout!
