“I am pleased to announce Gena' Fleming as the new principal for Camacho Elementary School,” Troxell said. “Ms. Fleming has shown an impressive dedication to education and a deep passion for student learning throughout her career. She is already well known among the students, staff and parents at Camacho ES, and I know that her leadership and experience will lead the school on a path of continued success.”

Fleming started her teaching career in 2002 as a middle school science teacher in Northside ISD in San Antonio. She worked on multiple campuses as a teacher over the next eight years, and in 2010 she transitioned to an Elementary Science Facilitator before becoming a district-level instructional coach. Fleming joined LISD in 2015 at Camacho ES, where she has served as the assistant principal.

Fleming earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi in 2002 and her master’s degree from Angelo State University in 2006.
