Online Auction for Surplus Items Open Now

Leander ISD will be auctioning off surplus equipment items beginning Oct. 10, 2018. Items include a Yamaha and a Denham Bros. upright piano, miscellaneous band instruments with cases, multiple library shelving units with varying lengths and heights, metal audio visual carts, and multiple lots of plastic Elementary student chairs.

School Naming Submissions Open for ES 27 and MS 9

LISD Students Earn National Merit/College Board Honors

Leander ISD Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D., announced that 22 LISD students were distinguished as Semifinalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program based on their outstanding performances on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Texas Education Agency (TEA) releases accountability ratings for 2018

Each district within Texas is awarded with an A-F grade based upon performance within three domains. Each campus within Texas is awarded with one of two eligible ratings for 2018 State Accountability. A rating of "Met Standard" or "Improvement Required" is awarded to each campus for overall performance and for performance in each domain.

The Board of Trustees funded the revamping of the district’s route bus fleet to include air conditioning through 2017 bond money and a TCEQ grant, changed policy for provided student low-cost meals, and reviewed the work of a citizens’ committee studying expansion of academic and extracurricular programs, including magnet schools and orchestra.

The number of Leander ISD students that took Advanced Placement (AP) exams grew by 10 percent during the 2017–18 school year, a 6 percent increase from the previous year. These figures outpace the district’s 4 percent growth in high school student enrollment.
