Faubion Elementary School Principal Bobbie Steiner may be the unquestioned leader of Leander ISD’s oldest school (established 42 years ago), but she will always be a teacher at heart.

Mrs. Steiner’s dedication and commitment to her students resulted in her being named

the 2018 Texas PTA Outstanding Educator of the Year Award in the category of Elementary Principal. The award, bestowed in July in the presence of 3,000 educators at the Texas PTA’s summer conference, focuses on the success of the educator in creating a strong family-school connection to support student growth and success.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award, as is comes from the very people I serve,” Steiner said. “It means the world to me to have such a strong relationship with my Faubion community. ‘All Means All’ takes on a whole new meaning when you have such a connection with the students, parents and the staff.”

Mrs. Steiner was honored for her Texas PTA award by the LISD Board of Trustees at its regular meeting Aug. 23. For those who have learned from her, served with her and worked for her, the honors are as well-deserved as they are unsurprising.

“Bobbie has exemplified leadership in partnering with the PTA, parents and the community to advocate for her kids,” said Faubion parent Suzanne Grover. “We are a Title 1 school, but it hasn't stopped us from beautifying our campus, throwing community events and engaging parents, because Bobbie tirelessly advertises PTA and campus events to bring families together. Whether she's serving ice cream at our PTA meetings, being dunked in the dunk tank at Carnival or running with the kids at our fun run, Bobbie is always right there with us.”
