Leander ISD is proud to announce Vista Ridge High School’s Caleb Thomsen as the LIDS Fine Arts Student of the Week.

Caleb, a bass clarinetist in the Vista Ridge Band, is a dedicated, accomplished leader for the reigning 6A state champions. In addition to being a section leader, he serves in many ways for the Ranger Band. When Caleb tore his ACL this past summer, he did not flinch or seek an easy way out, but became a strong encourager of his bandmates, eventually finding a role as the operator of our Metronome for rehearsals. He also continued to give 100% to the things that he could do, such as playing in the stands and helping to load the equipment truck.

“Caleb loves band and the people associated with it,” VRHS Band Director Brian Christan said. ”He invests time in his colleagues, seeking to build bridges and resolve conflict.  While he is quiet and more behind the scenes in his leadership, Caleb’s attitude is infectious and has served our band family in tremendous ways.”

Congratulations to Caleb Thomsen, a deserving choice for LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week.
