The Board of Trustees officially named LISD’s newest elementary school, adopted a new student information system and received an update on ongoing construction at its Dec. 13 meeting.

Following a lengthy public comment window and the consideration of nearly 500 naming submissions, the Board of Trustees officially named the district’s newest schools at its Dec. 13 meeting.

Trustees approved eSchoolPlus, a product of PowerSchool Group, LLC, as the district’s new system for student grades, attendance, and other data management starting in the 2019-20 school year.

Construction at Larkspur Elementary School continues on schedule, while several more Bond 2017 projects have broken ground.

The Board of Trustees discussed naming for Elementary School 27 and Middle School 9 at its Nov.20 meeting, reviewing options in three categories: geographical, historical or national figure, or a local contributor to Leander ISD.

The development of next year’s academic calendar is underway, with a proposal to the Board due January 2019. LISD staff will also consider creating a working draft of the 2020-2021 academic calendar for community planning purposes.

The txConnect Parent Portal is currently experiencing technical difficulties. The district is aware of the issue and is working quickly to get the system back online.
