Custodial Team
Approximately 200 employees serve LISD as part of the district’s custodial team. This team cleans more than 6 million square feet of space each day, including the district’s 25 elementary schools, eight middle schools and six high schools, in addition to the administration, technology and support department buildings. These hardworking professionals take pride in providing clean and safe places for all students to learn.

Transportation Team
Each day, more than 11,000 students get to and from school courtesy of LISD’s transportation team. This group of dedicated employees includes bus drivers, crossing guards, dispatchers, mechanics and administrative support professionals. To meet the needs of the district, more than 170 buses travel almost 14,500 miles each day, covering 200 square miles. Our transportation employees care about our students. The district considers our buses to be a student’s first classroom, and our drivers to be a child’s first teacher of the day.

Facilities Team
Our maintenance department and grounds crew help ensure our students attend the best schools. By nature, a lot of their work is done at odd hours and behind the scenes. Their work – from mowing the grass, to striping the athletic fields, to HVAC repairs, to inspecting playgrounds, to maintaining the tens of thousands of irrigation heads across the district, and much, much more – all contributes to providing the very best for our students. Together, this group cares for 41 campuses with Energy Star certifications, more than 1,400 acres of grass and athletic fields, more than 134 acres of roofs and more than 6.8 million square feet of enclosed building areas.

Food Services Team
With professional chefs and registered dietitians on staff, the LISD CNS department takes great pride in providing students with delicious breakfast and lunch options every day. During the school year, CNS staff serve a staggering 3.1 million meals to LISD students. That’s more than 1 million pieces of fresh fruit, 6,100 pounds of fresh baby spinach, and 3.5 million baby carrots each year! Most importantly, LISD CNS staff members strive to do what’s best for students. They work hard and selflessly give their time and attention to get to know their students and greet them with a smile.
