Student-Athletes of the Week: March 25, 2019
Posted on 03/29/2019

In honor of March being National Athletic Trainer month, LISD is saluting our student athletic trainers who work non-stop throughout the school year making sure our athletes have everything necessary to be their best.

As such, the LISD Student-Athletes of the Week are Camryn Detten, from Leander High School and Nina Weigle, from Vista Ridge High School.

Camryn is a senior who has supported football, wrestling, and other sports throughout the last four years. In addition to Athletic Training, Camryn is involved in HOSA, an organization of future health professionals. With her busy schedule, she also maintains an A average and participates in ACC classes.

Leander High School Athletic Trainer Dawn Allen states, “Camryn goes above and beyond to help out and do what it takes to take care of athletes at Leander High School."

Nina is a junior who supports the Vista Ridge Track & Field teams. Nina joined the Sports Medicine team in the fall as a foreign exchange student from Germany. In addition to Sports Medicine, Nina has achieved Honor Roll status every grading period.

Vista Ridge Athletic Trainer Rikkie Fernandez states, “Nina takes the initiative and is willing to volunteer her time to help outside of her normal assignments. She is always willing to lend an extra hand, and has been an asset to our programs.”

Congratulations to Camryn Detten and Nina Weigle, the LISD Student-Athletes of the Week!
