Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from all six Leander ISD high schools participated in the Greater Leander FFA Project and Livestock Show at Leander High School. A total of 240 students participated in the weekend event, which began Feb. 1.

The event kicked off with the Market and Breeding Rabbit Chicken Shows. The next day, students participated in the Project Show, encompassing Agriculture Mechanics, Horticulture and Ag Science. Students presented projects with an interview and project documentation about the creation process. Later, the livestock show saw FFA standouts presenting swine, cattle, sheep and goats. The top 35 percent qualified for the premium auction, where they received scholarship money for their projects. Students use the money to invest in projects for next year and for college.
