Six Leander ISD athletes competed in seven events, winning four medals and setting multiple personal and school bests at the UIL State Track Meet at Mike A. Meyers Stadium.

Glenn High School junior Gaby Thomas added to the Grizzlies' medal haul and broke one of her own school records on her way to a second straight podium finish at the State Meet.

Thomas jumped 39 feet, 6.25 inches to win bronze in the 5A girls' triple jump. She earned a silver medal in the event last year in the 4A competition with a jump of 39 feet, 4.5 inches.

Glenn sophomore Chloe Coffee set a new school and personal record, jumping 5 feet, 6 inches and winning the silver medal in the 5A girls' high jump.

Rouse High School senior Abby Bendle
set a new personal best in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.31 seconds, good for the bronze medal, nearly two full seconds faster than her effort in the same event at the state meet as a sophomore.

Rouse junior Grayson Schirpik cleared 5 feet, 2 inches in the 5A girls' high jump to finish eighth in the state.

Cedar Park sophomore Meghan Wilcox ran the 100-meter dash in 12.02 seconds, good for a bronze medal. She finished eighth in 200-meter dash later in the meet, running it in 24.95 seconds.

Congratulations to all of these talented athletes!
