One of Texas’ fastest-growing school districts, the Leander Independent School District includes 36 campuses for the 2009-2010 school year.
Elementary Schools
The 23 LISD elementary campuses serve more than 15,700 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade:

Bagdad, Block House Creek, Laura Welch Bush, Cox, Cypress, Deer Creek, Faubion, Giddens, Grandview Hills, Knowles, Mason, Naumann, Parkside, Plain, Pleasant HillReagan, River Place, River Ridge, Rutledge, Steiner Ranch, Westside, Whitestone, and Winkley Elementary.

Elementary school hours are 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Leander ISD’s eleven secondary campuses will serve more than 14,000 students this school year:

Canyon Ridge Middle School, Cedar Park Middle School, Henry Middle School, Leander Middle School, Running Brushy Middle School, and Wiley Middle School, Cedar Park High School, Leander High School, Rouse High School, Vandegrift High School and Vista Ridge High School.

Students in grades six, seven, and eight attend LISD’s six middle schools. High school students in grades 9 – 12 are housed at one of the high schools.

This year, Vandegrift High School (HS #5) opened its campus to 9th and 10th grade students.  For the first year, Vandegrift will be housed at the facility of Four Points Middle School (MS #7) at 9700 McNeil Drive in Austin. In the Fall of 2010, the actual Vandegrift High School facility will be completed, and the staff and students will move to that location.

Four Points Middle School, located adjacent to Vandegrift High School, will open its doors to 6th - 8th graders in Fall 2010.

LISD Secondary School hours are: Middle Schools 8:55 a.m. to 4:05 p.m. and High Schools 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Alternative Schools
Leander ISD also has two alternative campuses. New Hope High School is a secondary school offering an environment and curriculum-delivery system where the alternative learner will be given opportunities to meet or exceed the requirements for graduation. School hours will be flexible. The Leander Extended Opportunity Center (LEO) is the district’s second alternative education school. It is designed for students from 1st through the 12th grade who are not achieving success in their regular classrooms.
