All
students have the opportunity to enroll in Career and Technical
Education courses along with the more traditional core academic courses.
Ideally, students create balanced 4-year plans that include the best of
both academic and Career and Technical Education classes.
The
courses are designed to introduce students to technical careers as well
as provide skills for employment. It should be understood that these
courses might be very academically demanding with two or more years of
higher mathematics and science required.
Enrollment in Career
and Technical Education courses is open to all qualified students
without regard to race, color, creed, religious affiliation, sex, or
handicapping conditions. Safety is an important part of elective course
work and must be demonstrated before students are allowed to participate
in any laboratory experience.
Each student enrolled in a Career and Technical Education course
may have the opportunity to participate in a student organization
appropriate to the course in which he/she is enrolled, which promotes
leadership and job skill training, and provides scholarship
opportunities.
