Volunteer Program

Volunteer Application
Effective June 30, 2017, all current LISD volunteer applications will become INACTIVE.

Beginning July 1, 2017, all (current and new) volunteers will be required to complete a volunteer application through our Raptor Volunteer Management software. The link to the online application will be live and available on this page July 1 at 12 a.m.
LISD’s volunteer program is the envy of other districts across the state. Last year, more than 13,000 LISD volunteers donated more than 300,000 hours, contributing time and energy and demonstrating the importance of education to a generation of impressionable students.

A volunteer’s tasks are limitless, including such things as tutoring and mentoring students, chaperoning school dances and field trips, serving as room parents, helping with field day and book fairs, serving Thanksgiving lunches, stuffing of weekly take-home folders, helping with class projects, laminating, being a literacy partner and helping in the campus office. The list is endless, and we know that each of our volunteers/mentors contributes to making this a great place to learn.

Each campus’ volunteer coordinator organizes and implements the program on their campus, helping each individual person maximize her or his volunteer time.
