Volunteer Program |
Volunteers at LISD are a TEAM!
LISD’s volunteer program is the envy of other districts across the state. Last year, more than 12,500 LISD volunteers at 36 campuses, donated more than 273,000 hours, contributing time and energy and
demonstrating the importance of education to a generation of impressionable students.
A volunteer’s tasks are limitless, including such things as tutoring and mentoring students, chaperoning school dances and field trips, serving as room parents, helping with field day and book fairs, serving Thanksgiving lunches, stuffing of weekly take-home folders, helping with class projects, laminating, being a literacy partner and helping in the campus office. The list is endless, and we know that each of our volunteers/mentors contributes to making this a great place to learn. Each campus’ volunteer coordinator organizes and implements the program on their campus, helping each individual person maximize her or his volunteer time. Questions or interested in getting involved? Please contact your campus coordinator or the district volunteer coordinator Shannon Lombardo. |
