Volunteer Program

Renew your Volunteer Application
All current LISD volunteers are required to reactivate their volunteer application. Enter your current user name and password and select reactivate. Please take a moment to update your child’s grade and campus for next year, any address, phone, or email changes, along with your volunteer years of service.
LISD’s volunteer program is the envy of other districts across the state. Last year, more than 13,000 LISD volunteers donated more than 300,000 hours, contributing time and energy and demonstrating the importance of education to a generation of impressionable students.

A volunteer’s tasks are limitless, including such things as tutoring and mentoring students, chaperoning school dances and field trips, serving as room parents, helping with field day and book fairs, serving Thanksgiving lunches, stuffing of weekly take-home folders, helping with class projects, laminating, being a literacy partner and helping in the campus office. The list is endless, and we know that each of our volunteers/mentors contributes to making this a great place to learn.

Each campus’ volunteer coordinator organizes and implements the program on their campus, helping each individual person maximize her or his volunteer time.
Volunteer Badge Process
Once your volunteer application is complete and processed, your information will be uploaded to the individual campuses you have chosen. You will then receive an email from your campus volunteer coordinator stating your approval status. Once you have been approved as a volunteer you will need to log back in to your volunteer application and click the link that states "print my badge."  Please make sure that you print your name badge prior to volunteering and bring it with you to the campus. Your campus front office will have a clear badge holder and clip for you to insert your printed name badge. This name badge should be worn at all times while volunteering on campus. If you forget your volunteer badge, please make sure you sign in and receive a visitor sticker.
