Committee Information

Participate in a Site-Based Planning Committee
Parents, community members, business representatives needed to guide campus decisions!

Each campus within Leander ISD has a Site-Based Planning Committee (SBPC). These committees are composed of district employees, community members, business representatives and parents.

SBPC members provide input to the principal on a wide variety of subjects, with an aim of improving the achievement of all students. The Committees address such areas as planning, curriculum, budgeting, staff development, staffing patterns, and school organization.

Each fall there are elections for parent representatives. (Parents can only serve as a parent representative at the campus where they have a child attending school.) If you would like to find out more information about the council, or run for one of the parent seats (or nominate someone for one of the seats), please call the campus your student attends. The district will offer training in September for those elected to serve on the SBPCs.
School Health Advisory Committee (S.H.A.C.)
Texas Education Code 28.004 states that each school district will establish a school health advisory council (SHAC). The council is made up of school personnel, community members, and parents.
