Translation Services

Services Overview

Global Flags

Leander ISD is a fast-growing, multicultural school district in Central Texas. Our diverse population reflects many languages and cultures. Translation Services through the ELL (English Language Learners) Department provides translation and interpretation services to support our students and employees to improve communication, enrich the educational environment and effectively perform in their day-to-day operations and learning.

The most common languages requested are Spanish, American Sign Language, and we also accommodate services for Braille and other foreign languages, such as Korean, Vietnamese, Russian and Mandarin among others, on a needed basis for our school operational activities and in compliance with federal regulations, such as ADA, Title I, IDEA, and also for the vital areas necessary for the success of LEP students and families.

To support our schools and administrators, Translation Services has a streamlined system through Eduphoria that makes it easy to submit your requests and guarantee a prompt response and completion on deadlines.

How to Place a Translation/Interpretation Request

Start by logging into Eduphoria with your district log-in credentials. From the Eduphoria welcome screen, navigate to "Helpdesk."

At the bottom of the Helpdesk page, look for "Document Translation" or "Meeting Interpretation" (indicated by the red arrows in the above image).

  • Fill out ticket (Translation/Interpretation)
  • Choose date, time of meeting if either applies
  • Due date for document
  • Choose language from the language box
  • Include pertinent information in the text box: contact person, place, phone number, etc.
  • Please allow at least 5 days to place a request for Spanish and 7 days for other foreign languages to better accommodate your needs.

Bilingual Information Center for School and District Events

A photo of an LISD employee. You can now take advantage of a new way to communicate with families and students in school events through an Information Center in English and Spanish. Depending on your activity or event, when requesting interpretation services you can instead request the Information Center, if your activity has a big number of attendees (e.g. parent nights, open houses, etc.), and the need of distributing different materials, this will be a good solution for you.

To set up a Bilingual Information Center, we provide two (2) interpreters and a display banner, you just need to provide a table or set up location, and the materials for distribution for your families (brochures, flyers, questionnaires, promotional material). This create a one spot attention center more visible, in which families can take advantage of a vast array of information at once to make your event more successful, and obtain interpretation at the same time if needed.

Have everything ready: Send your materials to translate prior to your event to give you ample time to promote it, at least 5 days in advance, through Eduphoria-Helpdesk or email Isabel.ceballos@leanderisd.org . We look forward to make your events more interactive and successful with language mediation!
