Leadership LISD

Leadership Leander ISD is an opportunity that provides community members an inside look at the goals, operations and culture of Leander ISD. This program is an ongoing tradition in the district’s efforts to remain transparent and engaged with our community, allowing parents, community leaders and business partners the ability to get an “up-close and personal” look at how the district operates. Leadership LISD participants interactively explore first-hand how it all works and offer insightful feedback that supports LISD’s continuous improvement efforts.

The Leadership class meets once a month (usually the second Thursday) in September through June from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at various locations throughout the district. Meetings for 2016-17 are scheduled for:

  • September 8
  • October 13
  • November 10
  • December 8
  • January 12
  • February 9
  • March 9
  • April 13
  • May 18
  • June 8

The application submission window for Leadership LISD Class of 2017 is now closed. For more information, please contact Shannon Lombardo at shannon.lombardo@leanderisd.org.

The generous support from our district and the local business community has allowed this class to be offered at no cost to the participants.

Last year's Leadership Leander ISD Schedule - Class of 2015
“Leadership Leander ISD was a valuable experience. Everyone works together to do what is best for all students and families. In Leander, it is more than having a mission and goals posted on the wall. The mission drives the work of all LISD employees as they strive to support students every day.”
~ Lana Sveda, K-12 Education Manager The College

"Leadership Leander ISD was an eye opening experience. I felt that I was a very well informed citizen and parent in the school district, but this class truly opened my eyes to the magnitude of what it takes to make this district so successful. I wish that every citizen had the opportunity to experience this class first hand, so they too would understand how LISD cares for, prioritizes, and believes in its students."
~ Bridget Brandt, President Greater Leander Chamber of Commerce
