TEXAS Scholars

What is the TEXAS Scholars Program?Texas Scholars
TEXAS Scholars is the collective name for a community's incentives and strategies to motivate all of its students to complete the state Recommended High School Plan or Distinguished Achievement Program. Leander ISD is devoted to promoting academic achievement and rigor for all of its students.

There are two major elements of TEXAS Scholars
1. Volunteers from the community present the Great Expectations…Great Rewards presentation stressing the value of completing the Recommended High School Plan or Distinguished Achievement Program to all 9th grade students through Academic and Career Excellence/Student Leadership (ACE-SL) or AVID classes.

2. Recognition is given to seniors who graduate as Texas Scholars. Students are currently being recognized with a frame-ready certificate (included in the graduation portfolio) and a Texas Scholars medal to be worn at graduation.
