Middle School PACE Math

Student raises hand in classStudents not currently in PACE/Pre-AP math may be re-evaluated for the program prior to their 6th and 7th grade years. Criteria for PACE/Pre-AP mathematics placement includes: STAAR scores, mathematics class grade average, and the LISD PACE Screener Test.

PACE/Pre-AP Mathematics

Middle school students who complete the PACE/Pre-AP mathematics program will become a year accelerated in content, so that they may take Pre-AP Algebra I in 8th grade. Because of this acceleration, it is imperative that students have a firm foundation in prerequisite knowledge and skills before moving from an on-level mathematics course to a PACE/Pre-AP mathematics course. To assess these prerequisite skills, Leander ISD uses a locally developed screener test. The content of screener tests can be found at the link below:

Initial On-Campus Testing

  • 5th grade on-level students: week of May 7-11, 2018
  • 6th grade on-level students: week of May 29-June 1, 2018

Summer Testing/Retesting Opportunities

All summer testing will occur at Cedar Park Middle School (2100 Sun Chase Blvd., Cedar Park)

  • June 13 & 14, 2018
  • July 18 & 19, 2018
